Iranian news agency ILNA reported that former president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was killed in what it described as a joint U.S.-Israeli attack targeting the Narmak district of Tehran.

Ahmadinejad, who served as president from 2005 to 2013, was a member of the Expediency Discernment Council and one of the most prominent political figures in the Islamic Republic over the past two decades.
