Iran’s news agency announced the signing of an agreement between Iran Hormoz Company and Russia’s Rosatom to build four advanced nuclear power plants in Hormozgan province, southeast Iran, valued at $25 billion.

The plants will cover 500 hectares following engineering and environmental studies.

The project comes as Tehran seeks to expand civilian nuclear energy production and strengthen its strategic partnership with Moscow, despite Western warnings over its nuclear program.
