Iran: Tehran Considering Allowing Oil Tankers Through Hormuz in Yuan

Media reports say Iran is considering allowing a limited number of oil tankers to pass through the Strait of Hormuz in exchange for transit fees paid in the Chinese yuan.

According to CNN, an Iranian official said the plan would form part of a new mechanism to manage maritime traffic through the strait, a crucial route for global oil trade.

Tehran had previously announced the closure of the strait amid the escalating war, while the United States warned it could target Iranian oil infrastructure if ships continue to be blocked from passing.
