Iran to Host Trilateral Nuclear Talks with Russia and China Amid EU Sanctions Threats

Iran announced Monday that it will host trilateral consultations with Russia and China on Tuesday in Tehran to discuss its nuclear program, as European countries threaten to reimpose international sanctions.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei told reporters that the talks will address recent developments related to the 2015 nuclear agreement and growing Western pressure.

“These are part of ongoing coordination between Tehran, Moscow, and Beijing in response to increasing European threats,” Baghaei said, according to AFP.

The meeting comes amid heightened tensions between Iran and several European nations, which accuse Tehran of failing to comply with the terms of the nuclear deal. Iran maintains that its nuclear activities are peaceful and under IAEA supervision.
