Iran’s military announced Saturday that its next retaliatory strike on Israel will involve the launch of 2,000 missiles—twenty times the number used in previous attacks—marking a significant escalation in the ongoing confrontation.
The Iranian Armed Forces General Staff confirmed that two senior commanders were killed in recent Israeli airstrikes: Major General Gholam Reza Mehrabi, head of military intelligence, and Major General Mehdi Rabani, deputy head of operations.
Meanwhile, Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Commander Ahmad Vahidi declared that Iran had delivered a “strong blow” to Israel as part of “Operation True Promise 3,” which he said would continue as long as necessary. Vahidi described the first phase of the operation as a firm warning, though he did not provide specific details about the damage inflicted on Israeli targets.
These statements come amid intensifying hostilities following Israel’s large-scale air campaign against Iranian nuclear and military sites, which resulted in the deaths of top Iranian military and scientific personnel. Regional and international actors continue to express concern over the risk of broader conflict.
