Iran Warns Israeli Strikes on Lebanon Could Undermine Talks with U.S.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian warned on Thursday that continued Israeli strikes on Lebanon could render upcoming negotiations with the United States “meaningless,” despite a temporary ceasefire agreement between the two sides.

In a post written in Arabic on X, Pezeshkian said that “repeated attacks by the Zionist entity on Lebanon constitute a blatant violation of the initial ceasefire agreement and a dangerous sign of deception and lack of commitment to potential agreements.”

He warned that “continuing these attacks will make negotiations meaningless,” adding that Iran’s “hands will remain on the trigger” and that the country “will never abandon its Lebanese brothers and sisters.”

The remarks come amid rising tensions over whether Lebanon should be included in any broader de-escalation deal, complicating the diplomatic track between Tehran and Washington.
