Iranian media: Tehran refuses to negotiate with Washington if it insists on abandoning uranium enrichment

Iran announced that it will not resume indirect negotiations with Washington regarding its nuclear program if the U.S. insists on the demand to abandon uranium enrichment.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baqaei explained that a date for a meeting between Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and U.S. envoy Stephen Biegun has not yet been set.

Baqaei confirmed that Tehran will respond to any reactivated UN sanctions, noting that Europe is not in a position to impose them at this time.
