Iraq Corrects “Terrorist Assets Freeze” List After Erroneous Inclusion of Hezbollah and Houthis

On Thursday, the Central Bank of Iraq removed Hezbollah and the Houthis from its previously published “terrorist assets freeze” list, saying their inclusion was “an oversight.”

In a corrective statement, the bank explained that the committee responsible had mistakenly included several groups with no relation to the list.

Meanwhile, the Iraqi government said it had ordered an urgent investigation to determine responsibility and hold those at fault accountable for the error.
