Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani ordered the summoning of the U.S. chargé d’affaires in Baghdad to deliver an official protest note following the killing of Iraqi soldiers in an airstrike in the west of the country.

He affirmed Iraq’s right to respond in accordance with international law.
