The Iraqi judiciary has begun investigations into the first batch of ISIS members transferred from northeastern Syria, in an operation carried out in coordination with the international coalition.
On Thursday, the Supreme Judicial Council confirmed that the detainees had been placed in prisons run by the Ministry of Justice and subjected to judicial procedures and trials in accordance with the constitution and applicable laws, ensuring the rights of victims.
Official sources said the first batch includes around 150 Iraqi and foreign nationals, adding that subsequent transfers will be determined based on security assessments.
