U.S. President Donald Trump announced that Israel and Hamas have reached an agreement under the first phase of his plan to end the war in Gaza. The deal includes a ceasefire, the release of hostages, and a gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Strip.
Both sides have agreed to the plan, following mediation by Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey. The United Nations called for the immediate implementation of the agreement to allow humanitarian aid to enter Gaza.
Arab countries stressed the importance of ensuring that this step leads to a comprehensive and just solution, paving the way for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state in accordance with international legitimacy.
