Israel Approves $825 Million for Urgent Security Supplies Amid Interceptor Shortage

The Israeli government has approved about $825 million for what it described as urgent security supplies, as the country faces growing shortages of interceptor missiles during the ongoing war with Iran.

Israel’s Channel 12 reported that the cabinet approved a special budget of 2.6 billion shekels late Saturday to fund urgent military procurement.

The move comes amid an immediate need to maintain operational readiness in the war with Iran, the report said.

To finance the purchases quickly, the government plans to adjust its 2026 spending plan.

Channel 12 added that Israel launched Operation Roar of the Lion,” the name given to its campaign against Iran, while facing increasing resource shortages after more than two years of continuous war.

The report also noted that Israel’s national debt has reached about 1.4 trillion shekels, equivalent to roughly $444 billion.
