Israel Closes Ben Gurion Airport Indefinitely

Israel has shut down its main international airport, Ben Gurion, located near Tel Aviv, until further notice following overnight missile strikes launched by Iran in retaliation for a wide-scale Israeli attack on Iranian territory.

“There is no specific date or time for the airport to reopen,” airport spokesperson Lisa Diver told AFP on Saturday.

The closure comes amid rising regional tensions. On Saturday morning, a spokesperson for Iran’s military warned that the next attack on Israel could involve up to 2,000 missiles—twenty times the scale of previous launches.

Meanwhile, Iran’s General Staff confirmed that two of its senior commanders were killed in the recent Israeli strikes.
