Israel Intercepts Missile from Yemen as Houthis Signal Entry into Conflict

Israeli media reported on Saturday that a ballistic missile launched from Yemen toward southern Israel was intercepted, with no injuries reported.

According to Israel’s public broadcaster, air raid sirens sounded in Dimona, Beersheba, and Eilat, marking the first such launch from Yemen since the current conflict began.

Israeli military officials were quoted as saying that the Houthi movement has officially entered the ongoing confrontation.

There has been no immediate comment from Yemen’s Ansar Allah (Houthi) group.

Hours before the incident, Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree announced the group’s readiness for direct military intervention, warning of a wider escalation if what he described as US-Israeli attacks on Iran and regional allies continue.

He added that such escalation could threaten regional and global stability, as well as impact the global economy.
