The Israeli military has begun a major two-day exercise titled “Defense and Power”, aimed at testing forces’ readiness for a range of combat scenarios.
The drill follows the assassination of senior Hezbollah commander Haitham Ali Tabatabai in an Israeli strike on Beirut’s southern suburbs.
A Hezbollah official described the attack as a “red-line violation”, saying the group’s leadership is assessing potential response options.
