Iranian media reported Monday that an Israeli airstrike targeted the headquarters of Iran’s state broadcaster in central Tehran, resulting in multiple deaths and injuries among staff members.
The attack came shortly after the Israeli military issued evacuation orders for residents in the area via its social media channels, a move widely interpreted as a precursor to the strike.
Footage and images shared online showed thick plumes of smoke rising from the building following the strike. While most state-run television channels continued broadcasting normally, the main news channel reportedly went off air.
As of Monday evening, Iranian authorities had not issued an official statement regarding the incident or the exact number of casualties.
The strike marks a significant escalation amid already heightened regional tensions.
