The Israeli army on Wednesday warned residents of six villages in southern Lebanon to evacuate immediately, ahead of possible airstrikes amid escalating hostilities since March 2.
In a post on the social media platform X, the army said the warning applies to the villages of Yater, Al-Qlayleh (Tyre district), Kafra (Bint Jbeil district), Jabal al-Batm, Majdal Zoun, and Al-Haniyah (Tyre district).
“Leave your homes immediately and move to areas north of the Litani River,” the statement said.
The army also warned residents that any movement toward the south could put their lives at risk.
Such warnings are often issued shortly before Israeli airstrikes.
In recent days, the Israeli military has issued several evacuation notices for areas south of the Litani River and the southern suburbs of Beirut, without specifying when the evacuations might end.
