Israeli Military Says It Struck Hezbollah Targets in Southern Lebanon

The Israeli military said on Saturday it had carried out strikes against Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon, describing the action as a response to repeated violations of the ceasefire agreement.

In a statement posted on Telegram, the military said: “In response to Hezbollah’s repeated violations of the ceasefire, the Israeli army is striking terrorist infrastructure belonging to Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.”

The strikes come amid rising regional tensions, particularly between Iran, Hezbollah’s main backer, and the United States, which has threatened Tehran with military action.

Although a ceasefire has been in place since November 2024, ending a war that lasted more than a year between Israel and Hezbollah, Israel has continued to carry out strikes in southern Lebanon, saying they are aimed at preventing the group from rebuilding its military capabilities.

Hezbollah did not immediately comment on the strikes.
