The Israeli occupation army announced on Tuesday that it had carried out a nighttime ground operation inside Lebanese territory, targeting what it claimed were Hezbollah positions in the Mount Dov area.

The occupation military spokesperson said combat engineers took part in the mission to destroy observation and field sites used by the group.

The operation follows days of Israeli airstrikes on southern Lebanon and comes amid U.S. warnings of an escalating confrontation between the two sides.
