Israeli opposition parties announced on Wednesday that they would submit a bill to dissolve the Knesset for a preliminary vote, escalating their confrontation with the ruling right-wing coalition. The move was confirmed in a joint statement released by opposition leaders.
Channel 13 reported that the opposition parties had agreed to move forward with the bill and bring it to a preliminary reading today.
This development follows last week’s announcement by several opposition parties — including Yair Lapid’s Yesh Atid and Avigdor Lieberman’s Yisrael Beiteinu — of their intention to propose legislation to dissolve the parliament.
The move adds further pressure on Prime Minister Netanyahu’s government, which continues to face growing internal criticism amid political divisions and mounting security tensions.
