More than 20 Palestinians were killed and several others wounded on Friday as Israeli forces continued heavy bombardment of the Gaza Strip, Palestinian news agency WAFA reported.

Medical sources said 14 people were killed when an airstrike hit a house in the Al-Tuwam area, north of Gaza City. Another strike on Jabalia al-Nazla in northern Gaza left four dead and others injured.

Two more Palestinians were killed and several wounded when Israeli forces targeted a tent sheltering displaced families in Al-Shati refugee camp west of Gaza City.

The escalation is part of Israel’s ongoing assault on Gaza since October 7, 2023, which has already caused tens of thousands of civilian casualties.
