Around 100,000 Palestinians performed the second Friday prayers of Ramadan at Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem despite strict restrictions imposed by the Israeli occupation authorities on worshippers entering from the occupied West Bank.
Israeli occupation forces were heavily deployed around the Old City and enforced age-based restrictions that prevented thousands of young men from reaching the compound.
The Islamic Waqf Department said the tightened measures did not stop large numbers of worshippers from attending one of the holiest days of the sacred month.
