Joint Indian-Philippine Naval Exercises in South China Sea Anger Beijing

India and the Philippines conducted their first joint naval exercises in the disputed South China Sea, a move expected to anger Beijing, which claims sovereignty over most of the region’s waters.

The drills began on Sunday and will last for two days, coinciding with Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos’ visit to India, where he announced plans to enhance maritime cooperation between the two countries.
