A spokesperson for Jordan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that “the Israeli occupation has no sovereignty over occupied Jerusalem or its holy sites,” stressing that Al-Aqsa Mosque, with its full area of 144 dunams, is an exclusive place of worship for Muslims.
The statement came after Israeli Occupation National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir stormed the mosque’s courtyard — his 11th incursion since taking office — in what Amman called a violation of the status quo and a new provocation amid indirect talks between the occupation and Hamas in Sharm el-Sheikh.
