An international conference aimed at advancing a peaceful resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and implementing the two-state solution will be held on July 28 and 29, diplomatic sources confirmed on Friday.
The conference, initially scheduled for June in New York under United Nations auspices, was postponed at the last minute due to the military escalation between Israel and Iran.
Convened at the request of the UN General Assembly, the gathering seeks to revive momentum for a negotiated settlement based on the two-state framework, promoting peaceful and diplomatic solutions to the decades-long conflict.
According to the same sources, the conference will be co-chaired by France and Saudi Arabia. However, no further details were provided regarding the agenda or level of participation, after expectations in June included the presence of heads of state and government.
The event is seen as a renewed attempt by the international community to rally support for a lasting peace in the Middle East.
