The Israeli Knesset voted Wednesday in preliminary approval of a bill to impose “Israeli sovereignty” over the occupied West Bank, with 25 lawmakers in favor and 24 opposed.
Another proposal was approved to annex the Ma’ale Adumim settlement east of Jerusalem.
The move drew sharp criticism from Arab and opposition parties, while U.S. President Donald Trump said he “will not allow” any West Bank annexation, noting he discussed the issue with Netanyahu and Arab leaders in New York.
