The Kuwaiti national team secured its spot in the 2025 Arab Cup, set to take place in Qatar in early December, after defeating Mauritania 2-0 on Tuesday at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium in Doha in the qualification playoffs.
Mohammed Daham opened the scoring for Kuwait in the 7th minute by taking advantage of a defensive error, and Mauritanian defender Nouh Al-Abed scored an own goal in the 23rd minute while attempting to clear a cross from Daham. A goal for Mauritania in the 58th minute was disallowed due to offside on Al-Hassan Eid. The victory marks Kuwait’s ninth qualification for the Arab Cup and their first in 13 years.
Kuwait will join Group C alongside Egypt, Jordan, and the UAE, facing Egypt in their opening match on December 2 at Lusail Stadium.
