Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced on Monday that Ukraine carried out a drone attack targeting the residence of Russian President Vladimir Putin in the Novgorod region in northwestern Russia.

Lavrov said Russian air defense systems intercepted the attack and thwarted it without any casualties, describing the incident as a dangerous escalation in the ongoing conflict.

He added that Moscow reserves the right to respond in a manner it deems appropriate, holding Kyiv responsible for expanding the scope of the confrontation.
