Lebanese media reported that the release of Hannibal Gaddafi, son of the late Libyan leader, is conditioned on providing accurate information about the 1978 disappearance of Imam Musa al-Sadr and his two companions in Libya.

His lawyer said Gaddafi’s health is deteriorating and that he is receiving continuous treatment in prison.

Human Rights Watch called for his immediate release, saying his detention is “based on unproven allegations” related to withholding information about al-Sadr’s case.
