Lebanon: Parliament Extends Its Term by Two Years Amid War

The Lebanese Parliament voted Monday to extend its mandate by two years, with 76 lawmakers supporting the decision, 41 opposing it, and four abstaining.

Parliamentary elections had been scheduled for May, but the decision comes amid the ongoing conflict in Lebanon.

The session was held while Israeli airstrikes continued on Beirut’s southern suburbs.
