Lula Predicts Imminent Trade Deal Between Brazil and the United States

Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva said on Monday he expects a new trade agreement with the United States to be finalized within days, easing the punitive tariffs imposed by Washington amid recent tensions between the two nations.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the ASEAN Summit in Kuala Lumpur, Lula expressed confidence that “a final solution between the United States and Brazil will be reached in just a few days,” adding that “life will go on in peace and happiness.”

The statement comes after months of negotiations aimed at resolving tariff disputes on Brazilian steel and aluminum exports, which have been a key sticking point in bilateral trade relations.
