French President Emmanuel Macron has denied the existence of any “lack of trust” between Europe and the United States regarding the Ukraine file, following a Der Spiegel report claiming he had secretly warned of a possible U.S. abandonment of Kyiv.
During his official visit to China, Macron emphasized that maintaining Western unity in the face of the war is “essential,” calling for cooperation in peace efforts.
The German report was based on a leaked version of a European call, in which Macron allegedly expressed concerns over a declining U.S. commitment to Ukraine.
