Seven journalists were killed in an Israeli airstrike targeting a journalists’ tent near Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, including Al Jazeera correspondents Anas Al-Sharif and Mohammed Qreiqea, as well as photographers Ibrahim Zahir, Moamen Alwiya, and assistant cameraman Mohammed Nofal.
The hospital administration said the strike hit the tent outside its perimeter, while the Israeli military claimed that Al-Sharif was a “terrorist.”
The Gaza Government Media Office described the attack as a deliberate assassination, noting that the number of journalists killed since October 7, 2023, has risen to 237.
