Moldovans Head to Polls Amid Fears of Russian Interference

Moldovan voters began casting ballots Sunday in parliamentary elections seen as decisive for the country’s geopolitical direction—choosing between European integration or alignment with Russia.

The pro-Western Party of Action and Solidarity faces Moscow-aligned political forces, amid allegations of large-scale Russian meddling and financing destabilization efforts.

The vote will determine the 101-seat parliament, which will appoint the next prime minister pending parliamentary approval.
