Moroccan RS Berkane Wins CAF Confederation Cup Title for the Third Time

Tunisian coach Muaine Chaabani led Moroccan RS Berkane to clinch the CAF Confederation Cup title after defeating Tanzania’s Simba SC with an aggregate score of 3-1 over two legs.

The Moroccan team won the first leg 2-0 before drawing 1-1 in the return match on Sunday in Dar es Salaam.

Simba opened the scoring in the 17th minute, but the red card shown to their player Youssef Kajouma in the 50th minute provided RS Berkane with an opportunity to level the score, with Soumaila Sidibe finding the net in stoppage time.

With this victory, RS Berkane has now won three titles, matching Tunisia’s Sfaxien’s record and further enhancing Moroccan clubs’ dominance in the total number of titles won.
