Moroccan Youth Movement “Gen Z 212” Temporarily Suspends Protests

Moroccan youth movement “Gen Z 212” announced on Saturday a temporary suspension of its protests, two weeks after demonstrations calling for reforms in the health and education sectors.

According to AFP, the group described the pause over the weekend as “a strategic step to strengthen organization and coordination, ensuring that the next phase will be more effective and impactful, free from improvisation or external exploitation.”

“Gen Z 212” stressed that its demands remain unchanged, emphasizing the need to hold corrupt officials accountable and to make the government responsible for the country’s deteriorating social and economic conditions.
