Morocco secured a place in the semifinals of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) after edging past Tanzania 1-0 on Friday at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
A tightly contested first half ended goalless, with both sides creating opportunities but failing to find the breakthrough. The decisive moment came in the 65th minute when Osama Malloui struck to give the Atlas Lions the victory and a ticket to the next round.
Morocco will now face the winner of Saturday’s quarterfinal clash between Uganda and Senegal, as they aim to lift the continental trophy for the third time, following their triumphs in 2018 and 2020.
