Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced Thursday that he ordered immediate negotiations to secure the release of remaining hostages in Gaza, while also approving military plans to capture Gaza City and defeat Hamas.

Gaza’s Health Ministry rejected Israeli orders to evacuate hospitals, calling it a “threat to the remnants of the health system” after what it described as “systematic destruction.”

The ministry appealed to international organizations for urgent aid to protect lives and sustain services.
