The Dutch authorities announced on Wednesday that early parliamentary elections will be held on October 29, following the government’s resignation amid escalating political disputes within the ruling coalition, particularly over asylum and migration policies.
Local media reported that tensions in parliament have intensified after several parties failed to deliver on their campaign promises, including the far-right Party for Freedom (PVV), which has called for banning Islam, criminalizing the use of the Qur’an, and halting the flow of refugees into the country.
