Egypt’s Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities announced the disappearance of a rare Pharaonic tablet dating to the Late Period from the tomb of Khentika in Saqqara.

The ministry suspects the theft occurred between 2018 and 2019, and referred the case to the Public Prosecution following an internal investigation.

The tablet is considered a unique artifact depicting agricultural calendars and seasonal labor scenes from Egypt’s Old Kingdom.
