New flotilla seeking to break Gaza siege set to embark from Italy on September 27

The International Committee to Break the Siege on Gaza announced on Tuesday that a new flotilla will depart from Italy on Saturday, September 27, aiming to challenge Israel’s 18-year blockade of the coastal enclave.

In a statement on the social media platform X, the committee said the ships will set sail from the port of San Giovanni Li Cuti. The departure had initially been scheduled for September 24 but was postponed.

The flotilla is being organized in coordination with the Freedom Flotilla Coalition and the “A Thousand Madelines to Gaza” initiative. The announcement comes as nearly 50 vessels from the Global Resilience Fleet are already en route to Gaza in solidarity with Palestinians under siege.
