The Ministry of Interior in Iraq’s Kurdistan region announced that an attack targeting fuel tankers in the Gwer area of Erbil resulted in one death and several injuries.

The ministry said “internal and external” parties are attempting to stir chaos, noting that the attack comes after the targeting of the Kormor gas field aimed at disrupting electricity supplies.

The statement added that a group of “rioters” blocked the road in front of the tankers and opened fire on passersby, stressing that the regional government will take measures to prevent similar incidents.
