Authorities in the Dominican Republic announced the seizure of around 1,000 kg of cocaine from a speedboat intercepted by the U.S. Navy in a joint operation.

The National Drug Control Directorate described the bust as “historic,” confirming 377 packages of cocaine were confiscated.

The move highlights growing security cooperation between Washington and Santo Domingo to combat trafficking networks in the Caribbean.
