Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán conceded defeat in Sunday’s parliamentary elections, delivering a brief speech from his campaign headquarters.
Orbán said that while the results are not yet final, they are “clear to us—painful but unambiguous,” adding that his party “was not given the responsibility or the opportunity to govern.” He also confirmed that he had congratulated the winning party.
Voters turned out in large numbers for the الانتخابات, which were widely seen as a potential turning point after Orbán’s 16 years in power.
The vote drew significant international attention, particularly from the United States, Russia, and European countries, given its political implications for Hungary’s future direction.
