Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced on Wednesday that a comprehensive ceasefire agreement has been reached between Iran, the United States, and their allies, following mediation efforts led by Islamabad.

In a post on X, Sharif said: “I am pleased to announce that the Islamic Republic of Iran, the United States, and their allied entities have agreed to an immediate ceasefire everywhere, including Lebanon and other locations, effective immediately.”

He indicated that the agreement follows diplomatic efforts to halt the war that began on February 28, potentially paving the way for a new phase of de-escalation in the region.
