A Pakistani court sentenced former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, to 17 years in prison each on Saturday in a corruption case involving the sale of state gifts below market value.
The conviction adds to dozens of cases against him since his 2022 ouster, which his party denies as politically motivated.
Khan’s lawyer said the ruling was issued without hearing the defense, with fines totaling 16.4 million rupees imposed on his client.
