Pakistan’s official television announced that a delegation will travel to Qatar on Saturday to hold talks with the Afghan Taliban, following violent clashes along the border.
According to state broadcaster PTV, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif and Intelligence Chief Lieutenant General Asim Malik will head to Doha for the discussions, AFP reported.
The move comes after a 48-hour ceasefire was declared between the two countries, following days of deadly confrontations that left dozens dead and included explosions in the Afghan capital, Kabul.
