Senior Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal affirmed that the movement rejects disarmament and opposes any foreign rule in the Gaza Strip, coinciding with the start of the second phase of the ceasefire agreement.

He stressed that resistance is a legitimate right under Israeli occupation and that Palestinians alone have the right to decide their future.

Meshaal also called for facilitating Gaza’s reconstruction and the flow of aid, warning against the imposition of external guardianship over the territory.
