Palestinian factions meeting in Cairo announced an agreement to form an interim committee of independent figures to administer Gaza after the war, paving the way for reconstruction and a return to civilian life.
The factions emphasized unity of decision-making and rejection of external guardianship, with coordination from Arab states and international institutions.
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the planned multinational security force in Gaza would include only countries “acceptable to the Israeli occupation,” and confirmed that Hamas would not participate in Gaza’s administration.
