Palestinian-American scientist Omar Yaghi expressed his delight after winning the 2025 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for developing metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) alongside other researchers.

King Abdullah II congratulated Yaghi, calling the achievement a source of pride for Jordan and the Arab world.

Yaghi previously won the “Arab Genius” award in 2024 in the Natural Sciences category.
